NicheCalc ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website nichecalc.polsia.app (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our Site or use our services. Please read this policy carefully. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Use our contact form: Name, email address, subject, and message content.
  • Request a quote (lead forms): Zip code, project type, project details, email address, and optionally your phone number.
  • Subscribe to NicheCalc Pro: Email address and payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers).
  • Save a project: Calculator inputs and results associated with your account.
  • Sign up for embed/API access: Company name, email address, and domain information.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Page view data: The pages you visit, referring URLs, and timestamps. We store a cryptographic hash of your IP address (not the IP address itself) for analytics and abuse prevention.
  • Browser information: User agent string (browser type, version, operating system).
  • Device information: Screen size and device type (inferred from user agent).

We use lightweight, server-side analytics. We do not use third-party analytics cookies such as Google Analytics by default. We may use a single pixel beacon for basic page view tracking.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information from third-party advertising partners (e.g., Google AdSense, Mediavine) for ad performance metrics. These services may place their own cookies — see Section 4 below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Site and our calculators.
  • Process and respond to your contact form submissions.
  • Connect you with contractors or suppliers when you submit a lead form (with your consent).
  • Process payments for NicheCalc Pro subscriptions and API/embed plans.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Lead referrals: When you submit a "Get a Free Quote" form, we share your project details with relevant local contractors or service providers. Your email and phone are shared only with contractors you're being matched with.
  • Payment processors: Stripe processes payments on our behalf. Your payment information is handled directly by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
  • Advertising partners: Third-party ad networks may collect anonymized data for ad targeting. See Section 4 for details.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

NicheCalc uses minimal cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Session management and authentication for Pro subscribers.
  • Analytics: We use a first-party localStorage identifier for basic page view counting. No third-party analytics cookies are used by default.
  • Advertising cookies: If display ads are shown on the Site, third-party ad networks (e.g., Google AdSense) may set cookies to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can manage these via your browser settings or Google's Ad Settings page.

5. Data Retention

  • Contact messages: Retained for up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Lead form submissions: Retained for up to 1 year after the lead is referred or closed.
  • Page view data: Aggregated and anonymized after 90 days; raw logs deleted after 90 days.
  • Account data (Pro subscribers): Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account closure upon request.
  • Saved projects: Retained while your account is active.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from any promotional emails we send.
  • Cookie controls: Manage cookies through your browser settings.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), secure database storage, and access controls. Payment data is processed by PCI-compliant Stripe and is never stored on our servers. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Users

The Site is operated in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those of your country.
